Northampton Center for Children & Families

Northampton Center for Children & Families is a residential and respite programming for children and adolescents ages 6-18 served by the Department of Mental Health. Our program provides individualized clinical services, as well as a wide variety of therapeutic and behavioral supports. Family engagement is considered essential to the program’s success.

 

Specialized Treatment Services

  • Trauma focused practice integrating advanced understanding about neurological and developmental needs
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) throughout all levels of the program
  • Integration of state-of-the-art Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Post-residential services (for DHM youth and families)

What Can You Expect?

Individualized Treatment Plans

  • Weekly individual and family therapy (more if needed)
  • DBT informed residential and clinical treatment tailored to each youth’s specific needs
  • Family-focused, strength based team approach

Small Group Living Environment

  • 6-7 youth per house
  • 3:1 staff to youth ratios
  • Total of up to 18 youth on campus
  • Social and recreational activities

Friendly, Caring Environment for Youth & Families

  • Frequent family visits on and off campus
  • Family participation in campus activities and events
