New Directions School is a therapeutic educational program, providing clinical, behavioral and academic services to students between the ages of 8 and 21. Approved as a Department of Elementary and Secondary Private Special Education Day School, we offer a 12 month, 218 day program following the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Our unique, small classroom setting enables our educators to help develop and support the Individualized Education Program (IEP) needs that are specific to each student. The school's primary therapeutic models include: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma and Attachment Informed Care, as well as sensory-based approaches.

NDS's unique combination of therapeutic models support students by teaching a skills-based approach to emotion regulation, prevention and behavioral de-escalation. Relationships with staff combined with the educational and programmatic structure, provide the support and skills needed to transition back to a more typical education setting.
Parents and Guardians are encouraged to contact their child’s local school district if they are interested in submitting a referral for enrollment.
